Dec. 11, Introduction to variational forms and Finite Element Method
Dec. 12, Error estimate in the energy norm
Dec. 13, Error estimate in lower norms and Approximation of quantities of interest
Dec. 16, Implicit aposteriori error estimators for the energy norm of the finite element error
Dec. 17, Partition of unity method
Dec. 18, Generalized Finite Element Method and the condition number
Dec. 19, Stable Generalized Finite Element Method

NOTE: In these lectures, we will try to convey the main ideas instead of presenting the technical details.

主讲人介绍:
Uday Banerjee是美国Syracuse大学终身教授,他于1985年在Maryland大学获得博士学位。他的研究方向是偏微分方程数值解、特征值问题等。最近几年, Banerjee教授的研究兴趣集中在广义有限元方法和无网格方法,这些方法是针对有限元法的各种局限性发展起来的新型数值逼近方法。Banerjee教授及其合作者在广义有限元和无网格方法的基础理论和算法应用方面都进行了大量的研究。
