The 2025 Complexity and Algorithm Academic Symposium was held in Guangzhou
From April 12 to 13, 2025, the 9th Complexity & Algorithms Workshop (2025 Complexity & Algorithms Workshop) hosted by the School of Computer Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University was held in Guangzhou. Vice President of the Operations Research Society of China, Professor Zhang Guochuan of Zhejiang University, Vice President of the Operations Research Society of China, Researcher Chen Xujin of the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the Quantum Computing Committee of the Computer Society of China, Researcher Sun Xiaoming of the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Director of the Theoretical Computer Science Committee of the Computer Society of China, Professor Xiao Mingyu of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China attended the meeting.
The conference opened grandly on the morning of April 12, and the opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Li Luzhou of the School of Computer Science at Sun Yat-sen University. Professor Ma Xiao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. In his speech, he extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of the meeting and introduced the relevant situation of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University to the guests. Professor Zhang Guochuan of Zhejiang University, one of the initiators of the conference, reviewed the original intention and development history of the seminar in his speech, and expressed his gratitude to the organizers over the years, especially the conference organizing team of the School of Computer Science of Sun Yat-sen University. It is thanks to everyone's joint efforts that the scale of the seminar has continued to expand and attracted a large number of outstanding young talents to participate.
Afterwards, the academic seminar officially began, with Professor Yin Yitong of Nanjing University and others hosting the report session. Professor Fu Yuxi from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Li Angsheng from Beihang University, Dr. Chen Wei, Chief Researcher and Director of the Theoretical Center of Microsoft Research Asia, Professor Li Jian from Tsinghua University and 22 other speakers gave wonderful reports. The reports covered multiple research directions, including computational complexity, reachability theory, basic theory of artificial intelligence, random algorithms, approximate algorithms, parametric algorithms, counting and sampling, quantum computing, combinatorial optimization, large language models, and machine learning.

This conference attracted more than 180 researchers in the field of complexity and algorithms from more than 50 universities and research institutes across the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Singapore), providing a platform for in-depth academic exchanges for researchers in related fields.
